MANAGEMENT
Nicholas Alten has a B.S. in Civil Engineering from Virginia Military Institute and an M.B.A. from George Washington University.
Nick has 25 years experience at all levels within the construction industry. He started his career working for a heavy highway construction company, Cherry Hill Construction Company in Maryland. He was involved in building roads and bridges and engineering design work throughout the Mid-Atlantic region. After that, Nick worked at Alpha Corporation, a Dulles, VA based engineering design firm. While working there he earned an MBA from George Washington University and passed his Professional Engineering exam. While at Alpha, Nick worked on various civil engineering projects and consulted/taught project management software to various clients.
Nick then moved to a sister company of Alpha – AC Software. As Vice-President of Product Management, he was responsible for all integration and coordination between development and sales teams, including designing new product features, establishing development priorities, ensuring customer satisfaction and helping the sales force close new business.
In April 2003, Nick left AC Software to create BetterSpace, LLC.
WHAT WE DO
We are fundamentally problem solvers. In having that trait we often act as designers/architects for of our projects. This allows us to accelerate the pace of the work and to quickly integrate customer requirements.
Many times the design work we provide manifests itself as elegant solutions for the client. These details may be mundane but the impact to the finish product is critical.
